Amethyst is a purple or violet variety of quartz. The Ancient Greeks believed that amethyst was an antidote against inebriation, hence wine goblets being carved from the mineral. You can form your own judgement on that one, but you can’t argue that the combination of the violet amethyst in the ring is a natural partner for the rose gold.
This contemporary and chic ring is elegant simplicity at its best. The heavy 18ct rose gold bezel setting emphasises the shape and colour of the 2.57ct oval, faceted amethyst stone.
Produced by Al Coro, a family owned business with great design credentials and a reputation for exemplary craftsmanship, the ring is part of the covetable Amici collection, which is designed to provide a platform on which to develop interchangeable pieces and looks. Worn alone, it is a striking ring. If you would like to add a splash of sparkle, there is endless choice in the collection which enables you to change your look as easily as your lipstick.
The collection includes a range of gemstones, a variety of cuts (round, oval, organic, cabochon, faceted etc) and different coloured gold. So if you favour stacking your rings, the possibilities are seemingly endless. It is intelligently created jewellery.
To see a similar ring in yellow gold, the prasiolite and yellow gold ring is a beautiful example.
